Entremeses cervantinos

Entremeses cervantinos

They followed the steps of Lope de Rueda, someone whom Cervantes deeply cared about and towards whom he felt great admiration and literary respect. Nevertheless, the Entremeses are longer and more complicated in their thematic, architectural staging, and motion. In which we find individual characters and ideas with a greater scope as well as a richer and more varied use of language. In 1953 the original staging was introduced by the University Theater, under the direction of graduate Enrique Ruelas Espinoza, which remains almost unchanged. Here, three Interludes are included La Guarda Cuidadosa, Los habladores and El Retablo de las maravillas.
