Creator of the concept “Abstract Folklore”, in 2020 he was honored with the Fromm Commission of the Fromm Foundation at Harvard University. As an orchestra conductor who specializes in music from the 20th and 21st century he has commissioned, premiered, and promoted countless scores, paying particular attention to the national repertoire, through live performances and recordings with groups from many parts of the globe. He is the principal conductor of the Sinfonietta MIQ, of Guanajuato, and The Last Hundred Ensemble of Miami. Among his most recent recording projects, there are four monographic albums of the composers Mabarak, Rasgado, Villaseñor and his own, and a triple album with music of Lavista, Gutiérrez-Heras, Vidaurri and his own.
